Notes From the
Vintner
|
Welcome
to our column. We hope that you will return to
learn interesting notes on wine, and related
subjects. Wine is a great gift from God to be used
for the enjoyment of man. It is a food, and should
be treated as such. It is meant to lift up the body
and lighten the soul. 09/1/04

What a year
! ! !
Most of the harvest is over, and the fruit is alive and well
in secondary fermentation. The fruit was in great shape this
year. We have crushed more grapes this year then we have in
the last few years. And the quality of the fruit
some
of the best I have seen. We are on our way to a very good
vintage, and several evenings of great wine with
friends.
It is easy to be in a good mood when things are going your
way. It was a good month with a lot of hard work, and some
time spend with friends. Many times I have advised you to
enjoy life
if you do not, then change and start. We
have enjoyed some good wines this month past. Some that I
have made and some that has been made by other wine
lovers.
So, the
point of these notes
is
enjoy, you can not work all of the time. I had someone tell
me last week that I work too much. The secret is to work
hard, and to play hard. Do what you enjoy, and spend time
with those you love and care about. Wine flows through my
life and friends. It is the gift that allows us to laugh,
and to end our sadness. It is to be used correctly, not to
over drink, but to enjoy a drink. Share a glass of wine with
a friend, and smile at life. Too many people are unhappy and
sad. There are many things in their life that they do not
like, but they will not change. So to all these people we
say Cheers ! ! ! May your life get better.
Now that the harvest is about over, and it was a good
harvest
enjoy life, laugh, and be happy. Get into a
good mood. This is the first day of the rest of your
life
Spend it well, and enjoy.
So now let
the party begin,
as the friends join you in the cellar. The wine is calling,
and the glass is empty. May I serve you ? ? ?
A toast to the
Lord for a wonderful harvest
