Notes From the
Vintner
|
Welcome
to our column. We hope that you will return to
learn interesting notes on wine, and related
subjects. Wine is a great gift from God to be used
for the enjoyment of man. It is a food, and should
be treated as such. It is meant to lift up the body
and lighten the soul. 2/1/05

Let us set
a bit and speak of wine fellowship
Now we
all know that wine is a good social oil. It allows us to be
relaxed and enjoy the people around us who we know and the
ones we do not know. It makes no difference if the person
next to you is of a social class above or below you. Wine is
an equalizer, and an introducer of people.
I say all this because I was at a private party a week ago
where the wine flowed, and the fellowship was king. There
were people there who I had never meet, and left knowing
them quite well. There was a fancy dinner and we all were at
two long tables. A total of 18 people enjoyed the meal, the
wine, and the fellowship. I know this to be true for two
reasons
one is that some of us have gotten together
this week, and secondly, I have the pictures to prove it.
This was one of the best parties I have ever been to in my
life.
Now you do not have to have a large party to enjoy wine
fellowship. It can be done alone, with a friend, or a small
group of friends. The important part is that you are sharing
something that levels the playing field of life. A joy that
was vinted for mankind. It can create a special bond,
between two people or more, that is renewed with each glass
thereafter.
So with the need
of more fellowship, and
improved fellowship in the world, share a glass of wine and
fellowship with a loved one, a friend, or any good soul on
the face of this good earth. So there you have it
enjoy
wine and share the joy with someone else. It is like a
smile, you can pass it on to another, and it will most of
the time; keep on going from one to another.
So take a bit of time this month, and share a bottle of
wine. And maybe the person you shared it with will invite
you to share one of their bottles of wine. Would you have
the red or white???
