The Cowie International Amateur Wine Competition is held to promote the making of wine at home for the enjoyment of family and friends. It also provides a time to learn and share information about the art of wine-making. There will be a seminar, tasting of the prize-winning wines, and snacks. Come and join the fun! Prizes are awarded for the Best of Show in each class, as well as for first place in each class. Remember, no other alcoholic beverages are allowed on the property with the exception of wine-makers--you may bring samples of your wine to the pot luck--but at no other time during the event is anyone allowed to bring alcoholic drinks on the property, at the direction of the management. Remember, the number of entries is only one bottle per entry.
The judging will be chaired by Dr. Justin Morris, Distinguished Professor at the University of Arkansas. All entries must be checked in by midnight on Thursday, April 1, 2011. Awards will be present on Saturday afternoon, April 30, 2011. If you have any questions, please contact Robert Cowie at cowie@cswnet.com or by phone at (479) 963-3990.
